Beaumont was the ninth high school to be open in the St. Louis Public School System in September of 1926. The cost to build the school was the most of the previous eight at $2,296,870 including the site. It contained 95 rooms, besides 30 ancillary rooms, and an auditorium seating 2,250 people. Its site was 6351/2 feet by 672 feet.

Beaumont High School inherited the legacy of twenty years of rich experience of the Yeatman High School. When it opened, the entire student body of the Yeatman High School went to it, together with the ninth grade of the Central High School. Those two bodies of students were fused into one homogeneous group destined to build a new spiritual superstructure upon the foundation provided by former experiences.

The first Principal was Mr. Wilbur N. Fuller and Mr. Albert H. Huntington was the assistant principal.

We're still basking in the afterglow of our wonderful 50th class reunion.  What a great weekend and what a pleasure to rediscover and catch up with old friends and classmates.
It was a true delight to visit with friends not seen in years, that is, after a quick glance at their name tags.  Jack Cothran (January class), now living in Colorado, observed that St. Louis must have bad water since everyone who lives here has impaired vision and did not recognize him.
Many thank-you's were received, describing the reunion as "memorable," "fun," "delightful," "well organized," "couldn't have been any better," "time passed too quickly," and "let's do it again as soon as we can."
My favorite quote of the evening:  "We're gonna need a bigger picture frame." Judy Anderson Ricks, referring to saving the "Deceased Classmates" picture frame we used for our 50th for a possible next reunion.
